From virtual exhibitions to interactive installations, technology offers museums new opportunities to create immersive and engaging experiences for visitors, fostering greater cultural convergence and understanding.

The second session of the third dialogue of the China-Europe-America Museums Cooperation Initiative, featuring outstanding speakers from museums, art foundations, and academic institutions worldwide, will explore how museums can leverage technology to create new forms of cultural dialogue and foster cultural convergence.


Meet the Speakers

Dr. Wang Hua, the Associate Dean of emlyon business school and Dean of emlyon Asia. His research interests centre on the innovation management, foreign direct investment, brand strategy, globalisation strategy of Chinese companies, and the automotive industry in China. He has published more than 110 publications in journals, books, and conference proceedings. He has taught MBA and EMBA courses in leading business schools, including Manchester Business School (UK), and has delivered executives training to corporate including Bosch, SAP, Volvo, Intel. He received a PhD from Université Pierre Mendes France, in France.

Juan Manuel Gabarron is the executive director at Gabarron Foundation Asia (GFA). Prior to GFA, Juan was the executive director, at the Gabarron Foundation in New York for over a decade, an art organization in the Spanish and Latin American art space. Previously, he was an IT and design teacher at ESPRI/Universidad de León, in Valladolid, Spain. He developed the divisions of the global (GF) in USA and Asia, implementing an original art and cultural foundation with exhibitions in top museums, biennales, public areas and art fairs. He has established and manage strategic partner relationships for key public art programs in USA and China as well as other partnerships with private corporations, governments and NGOs. He served as director of the Boards of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in NYC and in the Advisory Board of the Stevens Institute of Technology University; he was member of RedIRIS (Spanish Science Network for Internet Development).

Yao Yang studied at Nanjing University, where he received his bachelor's degree in law, master's and doctoral degrees in history, and a postdoctoral position in Chinese classical literature at the Faculty of Arts. He has served as the director of the Li Shutong Memorial Hall, the deputy director of the Tianjin Museum, the director of the Tianjin Cultural Heritage Protection Center, and is currently the director of the Tianjin Museum. He has a long career in research of art history and cultural heritage conservation, published dozens of academic papers, organized "Danqing on the Wall - Exhibition of Ancient Murals in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei", "Mingsha Legacy - Exhibition of Dunhuang Archive from the Collection of the Tianjin Museum" and other more than 20 exhibitions. At the beginning of 2023, Dr. Yao co-organized with the China Institute Gallery an exhibition in New York, called "Flowers on the River: The Art of Chinese Flower and Bird Painting, 1368-1911". He has led and participated in several academic projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels. In 2020, he was awarded as an outstanding expert by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC.

Wang Peng, Executive Director of Beijing Tangying Culture Communication, Chairman of Rongyi Digital Culture Development Centre, Member of the Standing Committee of the China Chamber of International Commerce of Culture and Tourism, 11thBeijing Haidian District Committee of the CPPCC, and Zhongguancun Cultural Industry New Leaders: Top Ten Innovators. He has long been involved in the planning and management of large-scale projects for governments and international organizations and has participated in important international exchange activities such as cultural exhibitions and events under the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, and the International Horticultural Exhibition. He also initiated and produced “the Asia Digital Art Exhibition” and a digital immersive drama called “Jing Shan Hai”. With the goal of developing digital culture, in particular digital art and performance, he is committed to exploring new impetus behind the integration of culture and technology.

An unwavering designer, Paolo Tassinari has linked the name of the studio he co-founded in 1981, TassinariVetta, to the visual communication for culture and institutions cooperating with major institutions in Italy and Europe: the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Venice Biennale, the Centre Pompidou, the Milan Triennale, the Holy See. Art director of Casabella international architectural magazine over 20+ years, currently visiting professor at the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste – one of the top higher education institutions in Italy –, he held public roles in the cultural sector. A member of the AGI Alliance Graphique Internationale since 2005 and current president of the Italian group, he was awarded the ADI Compasso d’Oro prize in 2011.

Aldo Cibic, an Italian architect, founder of Cibicworkshop, focuses on alternative sustainable project types. His projects have been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale, and his design pieces and drawings are exhibited in the permanent collections of prestigious museums such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Aldo Cibic is also an Honorary Professor at Tongji University in Shanghai and an Honorary Professor of Urban Studies at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
