Gathering in order to exchange ideas in the Italian city of Bologna makes great sense. The city is inseparable from its university founded in 1088. It is now one of the largest universities in Europe.

Bologna is known as the “dotta”, the learned. It is home to a university that was established in the year 1088.

David Gosset, the founder of the China-Europe-America Global Initiative, believes that in a world of multiple crises, one should not decouple but renew intellectual dialogue to solve the problems of our century. In this context, think tanks need to reinforce cooperation, and act as catalysts for peace. When American industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) created the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in 1910, he asked of what was one of the first modern think tanks “to hasten the abolition of international war, the foulest blot upon our civilization”.

“In a world of multiple crises, one should not decouple but renew intellectual dialogue to solve the problems of our century.” David Gosset, founder of the China-Europe-America Global Initiative.
