Net-Zero Dialogue | Energy Transition, a Crucial Enabler of Green Development

Session One of the First Dialogue of the C.E.A Net-Zero Transition Platform will be focused on Energy Transition and Sustainable Development. Speakers of this session come from Chinese and Western enterprises and institutions such as Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK), Paulson Institute, Tencent, CNOOC, SNAM, China Carbon Neutrality 50 Forum (CNF50).

Martin Rune Hoxer is the Executive Director for Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) in Shanghai, a board member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Global Tech Board, and a member of the advisory board for business programs at Aalborg University. He has vast experience within innovation, internationalization and business development.

Deborah Lehr is the Vice Chairman and Executive Director of the Paulson Institute. She also manages the Green Finance Center for the Paulson Institute. In addition, she served as Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Merrill Lynch and was a Senior Managing Director at the New York Stock Exchange. She also served in the U.S. Government as a Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for China. As the Founder and Chairman of the Antiquities Coalition, she works with governments around the world to fight against the illicit trade in antiquities.

Hao Xu is the Vice President of Sustainable Social Value at Tencent. He is responsible for strategy of Carbon Neutrality Lab and crossover between digitization and low carbon growth. He was previously a Partner at McKinsey, focusing on sustainable development in Greater China, Southeast Asia and India. He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Sheffield.

Tomas Anker Christensen is Ambassador for Climate Change of Denmark. He worked for more than 25 years as a Danish diplomat, including as Under-Secretary for Global Challenges and ambassador to Egypt and Iran; from 2012-2018 on loan to the United Nations as Senior Adviser for Partnerships and head of the Climate Change Support Team in the Executive Office of UN SG Ban Ki-moon; Assistant Secretary-General and Chef de Cabinet to the President of the UN General Assembly; and Chief Adviser to the UN Secretary General's Special Envoys for Climate Action and the Ocean.

Wang Zhen is the President of Energy Economics Institute of CNOOC. He also served as the Deputy Director-General of CNPC Policy Research Office. He was also appointed as the Chief Expert of CNPC Economics and Technological Research Institute, one the of National Top Think-tank. He was a full Professor, doctoral supervisor, Executive Director of the Academy of Chinese Energy Strategy and Dean of the Business School of China University of Petroleum at Beijing. He got his PhD in finance from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. He was a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at Darden Graduate School of Business, the University of Virginia.

Matteo Tanteri is President of SNAM China. He has 15 years of experience in the Energy industry as consultant and manager in Italy, Europe and China. In the past he was in charge of SNAM European assets management, BD & M&A, new partnership development and strategy. SNAM is one of the world’s leading energy infrastructure operators and one of the largest listed companies in Italy.

Frank Wang serves as Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU), Chairman of CSC Virtues Group, Director of Fjord Aqua, Secretary General of the China Carbon Neutrality 50 Forum (CNF50) and Executive President of Tsinghua SEM European Alumni Association. He worked for the Ministry of Machinery Industry and several leading multinational enterprises. He is co-founder of several leading enterprises in China and boasts rich experience in energy conservation, environmental protection, water treatment, green economy, and information technology. Also, he is an expert in international communication and management of business and industry organizations.

Jean-Philippe Raynaud is a seasoned executive of multinational enterprises who is deeply committed to leading business strategies and operations worldwide associated with environmental preservation, energy transformation and urban sustainable development. He has held executive positions in global utility and energy service companies, being involved in the sectors of gas, energy management, clean environment, low CO2 and smart city in France, U.K., Korea, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Egypt.
